While I was exploring the idea of flat earth, these are some of the notes I took.
- water doesn’t flow uphill
- water always finds its level
- water must be contained
- horizontal horizon is always flat
- engineers, surveryors & architects never factor curvature into their calculations
- airline pilots never adjust for curvature
- North Pole is the centre of the earth. “South Pole” does not exist
- Antarctica is not a continent; it is a wall of ice that surrounds the earth and contains the oceans
- the word “planet” is derived from plane – or flat surface
- according to globe earth model, people in Australia are hanging upside down, trees grow upside down, and the sky is beneath them – but they don’t notice because of “gravity”
- according to globe earth model, temperatures & conditions of the North Pole & South Pole should be approximately equal. But average annual temperature of the North Pole is 4 degrees, but -57 degrees at the South Pole
- earth was always assumed to be flat until it was suddenly changed to a ball

Gravity
- gravity does not exist; objects rise and fall because of density (Occam’s razor: the simplest explanation is most likely correct. Is it more likely that objects fall or float due to density, or due to some invisible, immeasurable, unprovable force?)
- a helium balloon will fly upwards (lighter than air)
- something heavier than air will fall downwards
- nothing to do with gravity; based on weight
- an apple falls to the ground because it’s heavier than the surrounding air
- if gravity is so strong that it allows people, oceans, and buildings to stick to the earth, then how can birds fly? How can helium balloons float?
